We first met at the Broadway for the YOTA launch event in 2000…I have followed your trajectory ever since…and even in this small way…a modest donation on my part…I was rather taken with the story of Orion and thought that It is worthy of a film…in your hands having seen some of your other films your treatments are very sensitive to their subjects.

Several years ago I read in the Guardian (circa 2000) the following: here copied from the internet…

‘The number of Elvies Presley impersonators has reached an all-time record high – there are now at least 85,000 Elvis’s around the world, compared to only 170 in 1957 when he died. At this rate of growth, experts predict that by 2019 Elvis impersonators will make up a third of the world population.’
I love how statistics run away with us…I’m sure (if I remember right) that the largest growth in Elvis impersonators is in China (along with classically trained concert pianists). If the aforementioned was one reason why the Orion film grabbed my interest, although I guess Orion should not be counted as an Elvis impersonator. The story of orion is a fascinating one and he is a great subject to bring to the big screen. A further reason followed a resent conversation I had with the cinematographer Roman Osin; the conversation was about the difficulties facing film makers in securing funding to make films…basically I wanted to help.
May the magic happen. I wish you every success on your project.
